　今年の夏に北極海の海氷面積が観測史上２番目の小ささとなり、氷の密集度は過去最低だったとの観測結果を２０日、宇宙航空研究開発機構が発表した。 　地球温暖化の影響もあって海氷面積は減少傾向。今年は大陸沿岸の海氷が大きく後退し、ロシアとカナダで北極海航路が開通した。宇宙機構は「夏を迎える前から氷が薄かった。氷と氷の隙間も開き、海氷の弱体化が進んでいる」としている。 　米航空宇宙局（ＮＡＳＡ）の人工衛星アクアに搭載した宇宙機構のセンサーで観測。海氷面積は今年９月９日に４５３万平方キロまで縮小し、１９７８年に観測を始めて以降、最も小さかった２００７年の４２５万平方キロに迫るレベルになった。

The latest update to Netflix’s mobile app for Android expands support to all devices running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The new version of this app is available now in the Android Market for all your Gingerbread and Froyo tablets and smartphones. When the Netflix app launched for Android devices in May 2011, it was available only on the Samsung Nexus S and five HTC smartphones running Android 2.2. News of comprehensive Android support caps off a busy week for Netflix, which has launched streaming services in several Latin American countries and fought back against reports of streaming limits over the course of these early days in September 2011.
